Albert Manzo, husband of Caroline Manzo on The Real Housewives of New Jersey addressed the recent claims from a former employee. The employee, Lanise Jackson is suing Albert and his younger brother, Tommy for allegedly calling her and other workers, “Spic bitches” and other racial names while she worked at The Brownstone House in Paterson, N.J. In one incident, revealed in the court papers, Jackson said Tommy yelled at her, “Are you blind? What are you, Chinese? Open your eyes.” She says she was “constructively terminated as she could no longer endure the racial, sexual, ethnic and country of origin epithets hurled at her hourly.”
But now Albert says the claims are just not true.“I’ve never spoken to any employee in that manne. This is the most insane thing I’ve ever dealt with. Now I got The Daily News calling me about this, I’m seriously thinking about launching a countersuit. She is defaming me. It’s almost like she has nothing better to do.I can’t wait for this to go to court. She’ll be perjuring herself.”
According to the NYDailyNews, the former server is suing for discrimination, maintaining a hostile work environment, and hourly wage violations, also claims she regularly “worked in excess of forty hours per week” but “was never paid time and half overtime.” Jackson’s lawyer Mark Mulick added, “The allegations are just horrible. All kinds of racial stuff.”
