Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s shocking split may have not been so shocking after all. While Paltrow did admit to working on her marriage for the past year before calling it quits, the power couple may have also had an ‘open marriage’ according to a new report. “They were physically separated and emotionally,” a Paltrow insider told People, with a friend of the actress addding, “They have been on and off for many years. The marriage was falling apart.”The couple suffered from personality conflicts and distance, and”they seemed to have a pretty mature handle on that crazy rotation of being superstars and parents. But that balance, given the time they had to spend apart, clearly couldn’t sustain itself.”
Martin is a low-key guy, while Gwyneth was more glam. Hmmm…now that Vanity Fair expose seems a lot more likely now doesn’t it?
