Wait did you know Iggy Azalea was married…yea neither did she! Looks like her ex-boyfriend, Hefe Wine (aka Maurice Williams), according to TMZ. Hefe Wine filed for divorce in Texas for what seems to be a common-law marriage. He claims they “agreed to be married, holding themselves out as man and wife and began residing together in the State of Texas on or about September, 2008.” According to state law a man and woman are considered married if they agrees to get married and consider each other husband and wife.
Iggy’s rep tells TMZ, Hefe’s lying as she never agreed to be his wife or get married.. So what is Hefe really after…he’s trying to prevent Iggy from selling assets obtained during their ‘marriage,’ right to Iggy music (they allegedly wrote together). hefe wants a Texas judge to award him 50% of Iggy’s assets she gained during their ‘marriage.’ It’a all about the money!
Iggy’s spokesperson released a statement to E!news, “It’s disappointing that this thief, felon and fugitive is continuing to use the media to attack Iggy as part of his desperate and despicable attempt to keep himself in the press. ”
“Iggy’s federal court complaint froze Mr. Williams’ ability to trade on her fame by profiting from music he stole from her, so he has resorted to elevating his predatory relationship with a 17 year old girl into a sham ‘marriage’ claim unsupported by any certificate or evidence.”
