Katie Holmes may have been hinting at a rift in her marriage when she sat down to be interviewed by Elle Magazine. Elle Magazine released a few excerpts from their interview and if you read between the lines, she does seem a little aloof regarding her husband, Tom Cruise. Holmes said, “I know who I am and where I am and where I want to go.” That statement alone seems like a foreshadowing of things to come.
On Tom: “He has been Tom Cruise for 30 years…I know who I am and where I am and where I want to go, so I want to focus on that.”
On whether being Mrs. Tom Cruise helped her in the industry: “Things are not handed to anyone. If anything, you work a little bit harder when you’re in such visible circumstances.”
On being in her 30s: “I definitely feel much more comfortable in my own skin. I feel sexier. I think in my twenties – it’s like you’re trying too hard to figure everything out…I’m starting to come into my own. It’s like a new phase.”
On a side note Cruise’s lawyer released a very telling statement regarding his client,
“We are letting the other side play the media until they wear everyone out, and then we’ll have something to say. It’s not Cruise’s style to do this publicly. He is really sad about what’s happening.Tactically we can’t say where Cruise will file a divorce case and if he’ll seek joint custody.”
