"The Butler" New York City Premiere - Arrivals

Mariah Carey is the latest celeb to perform for a controversial country leader accused of violating human rights laws for a huge pay check. Mariah is being slammed for one of her recent performances, she performed for the Angolan president José Eduardo dos Santos, who according to the Human Rights Foundation, has allegedly  ordered the deaths of many politicians, journalists and activists who have protested his rule, which began in 1979 according to USAToday.

Mariah was reportedly paid $1 million dollars for a few hours work. MC was reportedly seen in a video saying, “I am happy to be here in this room, and I am honored to share this show with the president of Angola.” Other stars have come under fire for performing or attending events for controversial country leaders who have reportedly violated human rights laws…Usher, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and 50 Cent have all been called out, but Jennifer was the only one who did not later donate her earnings to charity over the flub.

I get its a huge paycheck…but maybe do a background check and see if this is someone you wanted to be associated with. A lot of the celebs says they didn’t know…do some research first!!
