What’s a Nicki Minaj video without a little controversy. The rap star is all set to host Sunday’s MTV Europe Music Awards in Glasgow this weekend, but its her lyric video for ‘Only’ that’s causing quite a stir. Minaj dropped a lyric video for the ultra explicit song this weekend and well people are upset at the obvious Nazi imagery in the video that shows a cartoon Nicki.
‘Only’ which also features Drake, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown resembles old black and white Nazi propaganda videos from the 1940s. Although the images are slightly different the basic element are there like lined up soldiers with an armband baring the YM logo (Young Money) that resembles a swastika. There are also gas masks and explosions in the video. It’s not hard to make the connection.
