Natalie Portman and her husband, Benjamin Millepied welcomed daughter last month—before the Oscars last weekend which explains her absence at the awards. Portman’s rep told People magazine, “Natalie Portman and her husband Benjamin Millepied welcomed a baby girl, Amalia Millepied, on Feb. 22. Mother and baby are happy and healthy.” Just last weekend Natalie excused herself from the show despite being nominated for Best Actress for her role as Jackie Kennedy Onassis in “Jackie.” “Due to my pregnancy, I am unable to attend the Independent Spirit Awards and the Academy Awards. I feel so lucky to be honored among my fellow nominees and wish them the most beautiful of weekends.”
Natalie and Benjamin, are already parents to son, Aleph, who was born in 2011. They wed in 2012.
