So, the Met Gala is ova and all we can now think about is all those beautiful makeup and hair looks. So do you want to recreat Jennifer Lopez’s hair, Kate Hudson’s bun, Kim Kardashian’s makeup and…
Jennifer Lopez’s hair stylist Lorenzo Martin for ghd went for a sleek straight look. “Jennifer’s dress was going to make a statement, so I wanted to create sleek hair to accompany that look without taking the attention away.” So how did he do it?
“To begin, I parted Jennifer’s hair down the middle and dried it using the ghd air™ hairdryer in the direction of the style while pointing the nozzle down. I then used the ghd eclipse™ styler and glided throughout hair with a comb to smooth out frizz. Jennifer’s hair is naturally curly, so with ghd’s patented tri-zone™ technology I was able to straighten her hair in less time for a sleek and shiny finish. Once completely straight, I used gel to pull hair back and brushed from top to bottom, then used a finishing spray to set the style.”

Kate Hudosn looked like a golden goddess at the Gala. “To compliment Kate’s Michael Kors golden goddess dress, we created a soft, ethereal look, ” ghd Brand Ambassador and hairstylist, David Babaii said of Kate’s look.
“To start, I dried Kate’s hair with the ghd air™ hairdryer, brushing the hair towards the back of her head. Once hair was completely dry, I parted into three sections: one in the back and one on each side. Starting with the section in the back, I took one inch pieces and wrapped the hair around the ghd curve™ creative curl wand. I held each piece around the barrel for 10 seconds, then released the curl and stretched it out for 2-3 seconds until it cooled, creating subtle curls. I then pulled the hair into a high ponytail, twisting and wrapping it around the base to create a loose bun. Once the bun was secure, I pulled out a few loose pieces and used the ghd eclipse™ styler to straighten out the hair that framed Kate’s face. With ghd’s patented tri-zone™ technology there are three heat sensors within the iron that keep the temperature at 365 degrees – which is optimal for styling. To top off the look, I added a glamorous head piece.”

Kim Kardashian was heavenly in white and she kept her makeup simple and beautiful.“We wanted to stay true to Kim’s classic look and enhance her natural beauty and golden, glowy skin,” Mario Dedivanovic for MARC JACOBS BEAUTY said of the look.
First, Mario created a perfect canvas and achieved a dewy glow on Kim’s face by mixing a medium and
dark shade of the Genius Gel SuperCharged Oil-Free Foundation all over the face. Since Kim’s hair was tightly pulled back, Mario wanted enhance her natural features without too much color. Under the eyes, the Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(Marc)able Full Cover Concealer was applied to, while the Shameless Bold Blush in Shameless was applied to the apple of the cheeks to give a slightly peachy hue. To achieve a contoured look, Mario used the #Instamarc Light Filtering Contour Powder in Hi Fi Filter 60 in the hollows of the cheeks, around the hair and jawlines and on the sides of the nose. On the eyes, Mario maintained the nude and crystal color palette by applying a wash across the entire lid of the silvery Twinkle Pop Eye Stick in Frannie, followed by layers of the matte and shimmery peach tones in the Style Eye Con No. 7 Palette in The Dreamer to set it and give it a more nude-based tone. In the creases of her eye, Mario used a dark brown shade from the palette very lightly, and then took the golden Twinkle Eye Pop Color Stick in Au Revoir to the brow bone and lower lash line of the eyes to add some sultry sparkle. To finish of the eyes, Mario applied the Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Blacquer in a very thin line on the upper lash line, followed by a very slight wing to stay aligned with the MET Ball theme, and added a final hint of the golden sparkle to the inner corners of the eyes using the Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Mari(Gold) to enhance the natural gold in her eyes. And finally, on the lips, Mario achieved Kim’s go-to nude lip look with a warm nude tone of the New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Anais.
