It’s been 20 years since the death of beloved singer Selena, but fans still adore their lost Latin singer. Fans have now taken to the internet to petition doll maker Mattel to make a Selena Quintanilla Barbie Doll. The Selena doll idea comes just days after Mattel revealed a change in their Barbie body lineup. The new Barbies will come in new shapes and heights along with a different kinds of hair.
“There has yet to be any curvy Hispanic barbie dolls in any Barbie line and we think Selena is a perfect candidate for that kind of representation,” the petition on Change.org reads. “Selena was truly a person to be admired and I think young girls and boys would appreciate having a Selena doll in their collection.”
There have been Selena dolls on the market, but not an official Mattel doll.
