Sofia Vergara is used to making fun of herself and Monday night was no different. During the Emmy telecast Sofia was placed on a pedestal that began to turn while Bruce Rosenblum, president of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, presented his speech. He said, “The academy is much more diverse now that ever before, both in front of and behind the camera.”

And well the stunt began to get slammed on social media, with critics calling the stunt sexist. But Sofia had another view on the subject telling EW, “I think its absolutely the opposite. It means that somebody can be hot and also be funny and make fun of herself. I think it’s ridiculous that somebody started this—I know who she was—who has no sense of humor [and should] lighten up a little bit.”

Sofia never takes herself too seriously and I love that about her and she even joked about her new guy on the red carpet calling him too sexy. She told E!News, “He’s really hot, that’s why I didn’t bring him. He’s too hot, too tall, he takes a lot of space, so I’m like, ‘Listen Joe, please don’t come.’ Too handsome, too sexy.” Annnd Sofia had a nip slip…must have been a good night!
