Melissa Rivers is “terribly disappointed” with a new investigation that there were multiple mistakes during the Joan Rivers throat procedure that led to her death in early September. Yorkville Endoscopy Center has come under fire since the death of the late comedian. According to E!News, The federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services revealed several disturbing facts like Rivers weight was not recorded which mus be done to determine how much Propofol should be administered, they “failed to identify deteriorating vital signs and provide timely intervention”, and Rivers had no pulse at 9:30 a.m. after resuscitation was initiated at 9:28 a.m., but she was not resuscitated until 10 a.m.
Melissa’s attorneys Jeffrey B. Bloom and Ben Rubinowitz released a statement, “Our client, Melissa Rivers, is terribly disappointed to learn of the multiple failings on the part of medical personnel and the clinic as evidenced by the CMS report. As any of us would be, Ms. Rivers is outraged by the misconduct and mismanagement now shown to have occurred before, during and after the procedure. Moving forward, Ms. Rivers will direct her efforts towards ensuring that what happened to her mother will not occur again with any other patient.”
Melissa has slapped the clinic, Yorkville Endoscopy with a lawsuit.
On a side note, Kelly Osbourne stopped by the Today Show on Monday and had a slight issue with the producers after she specifically requested she not be asked questions about Joan Rivers. Allegedly “Kelly begged her, ‘Please don’t ask about Joan, I’m here to talk about my clothing line,’” the source said, adding that the producer told Osbourne if she didn’t feel comfortable answering, “We won’t do the segment.” Another source says Kelly was warned she would be asked questions.“Kelly begged her, ‘Please don’t ask about Joan, I’m here to talk about my clothing line.” The producer agreed not to go on with the segment if Kelly was uncomfortable, “We won’t do the segment.”
She was still asked questions about the late Fashion Police host to which she said, “It’s something, to be honest with you, I really don’t like talking about,” and in another interview with Kathy and Hoda, she said Joan was “the grandmother I never had,” then, “Please can we move on so I don’t cry?”
