Grammy producers want Adele to perform at the Grammys this year but that may be a stretch since she is currently recuperating after enduring voal surgery late last year! Adele is nominated in 6 categories.
Ailing British songbird Adele, nominated for six Grammys, is planning on attending the awards ceremony in Los Angeles next month, and producers of the show are hoping the singer’s doctors will allow her to perform also, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
The Rolling In The Deep singer is nominated in six categories, including album of the year, record of the year, and song of the year for her sophomore album, 21.
Adele was forced to cancel her remaining tour and promotional appearances after undergoing vocal cord surgery last November.
“Adele underwent vocal cord microsurgery by Dr. Steven Zeitels to stop recurrent vocal cord hemorrhage (bleeding) from a benign polyp. This condition is typically the result of unstable blood vessels in the vocal cord that can rupture. Based on the advice of her doctor and voice therapist in the United Kingdom, Adele came to Boston to consult and undergo corrective voice surgery with Dr. Zeitels, the Director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Voice Center. … Dr. Zeitels expects Adele to make a full recovery from her laser microsurgery,” Massachusetts General Hospital said in statement shortly after Adele’s surgery. Recovery from the surgery is expected to range from 1-3 months.
“Adele will be at the Grammys in Los Angeles on February 12 at the Staples Center,” a source close to the singer tells RadarOnline.com. “She’s thrilled to be nominated, but it’s been a hard time for her because of the surgery. She has begun talking more, with her doctor’s permission. Adele’s best friend in recent weeks has been warm compresses around her neck to help the healing process of her vocal chords. Producers of the Grammys would love to have Adele perform, and open the show, but she isn’t able to give them an answer yet. She won’t be able to give them an answer until the beginning of February, and they completely understand.”
