Adele popped into the SiriusXM “Town Hall” series at the SiriusXM studios in NYC and she’ll be answering questions from SiriusXM listeners about her celebrated career, including her highly anticipated upcoming album 25, which is scheduled to be released on Friday, November 20.
Adele has been promoting her new album like crazy and we are all just eating it all up. She also dished to The Guardian about writing a song to her ex-boyfriend letting him know she was over him—he’s the guy who inspired 21. She wrote “Send My Love (to Your New Lover)” as an ode to the ex as revenge. “This is my fuck-you song. It sounds obvious, but I think you only learn to love again when you fall in love again. I’m in that place. My love is deep and true with my man, and that puts me in a position where I can finally reach out a hand to the ex. Let him know I’m over it.”
She also talked about companies hounding her to be their spokesperson.”What have I said no to? Everything you can imagine. Literally every-fucking-thing. Books, clothes, food ranges, drink ranges, fitness ranges… That’s probably the funniest. They wanted me to be the face of a car. Toys. Apps. Candles. It’s, like, I don’t want to endorse a line of nail varnishes, but thanks for asking. A million pounds to sing at your birthday party? I’d rather do it for free if I’m doing it, cheers…” Adele adds, “money is all that gets thrown at you.”
The SiriusXM Town Hall with Adele, hosted by SiriusXM’s Jenny Eliscu, will air nationwide on Monday, November 16 at 5:00 pm ET on SiriusXM’s The Spectrum, via satellite on channel 28 and through the SiriusXM app on smartphones and other connected devices, as well as online at SiriusXM.
