American Idol had its first live show elimination … bubbly gospel singer Curtis Finch Jr. was sent home last night. He sang Fantasia’s “I Believe” on Wednesday, but his rendition didn’t quite cut it with viewers at home and he landed in the bottom two with Devin Velez and was eliminated…the judges choose not to save the singer. Nicki Minaj even threatened to go home if Curtis was eliminated but he was. The top 3 honors went to Candice Glover, Kree Harrison and Angie Miller, who were all dynamite in their performances.

Did America get it right? On a side note people at Idol were very upset at Nicki’s lateness the other night…the show is live and on camera…“Ryan was the angriest and Nigel (Lythgoe, executive producer) was mad too. Nicki knew better,” an inside source told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column. “And Mariah was just annoyed, she’s really over (Nicki.) They were all just embarrassed that it happened. “Everyone was really shocked,” added the source. “Nicki looked really bad.”
