American Idol‘s rating have been dropping like wildfire and it looks like the producers wanted to cook up a little suspense with a surprise twist. Ryan Seacrest started the show by saying A game-changer will happen live on this stage tonight.”

So here’s the twist…Ryan told the 5 remaining contestant that they had a choice, but it had to be unanimous…they could either keeping the remaining 5 contestants intact this week, but two would go home next week or let the eliminated contestant go home as usual…and let;s just say the decision was not unanimous and Sam Woolf was sent home! It great he lasted so long and he was able to say he nabbed the save! And he was even upset the contestants has to choose.

“I was kind of mad [about the twist], actually,” Sam told HollywoodLife.com. “They didn’t really tell us, but when they told us that keeping someone for another week was an option we kind of all huddled together and decided we shouldn’t really.” While Sam initially voted to keep everyone on, “after he’d circled the ‘yes’ we decided we shouldn’t have it changed because two people would be going home next week and that seemed worse. We were all freaking out. Like what the heck? This is messed up. It should be normal and once a week someone going home.”

Did you like the twist and were you surprised it was not unanimous by the contestants? The judges seemed surprised!
