So tragic a man opened fire in a Louisiana movie theater during a showing of Trainwreck yesterday, killing two and injuring nine before turning the gun on himself. Amy Schumer sadly tweeted,”My heart is broken and all my thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Louisiana.” The gunman, a drifter named John Russell Houser,59 shot and killed Jillian Johnson, 33, of Lafayette, and Mayci Breaux, 21 as they watched an evening showing of Trainwreck.

Houser, known to have mental health issues, was a drifter who was anti-government, but a motive is still unclear.  He even had his car, a 1995 blue Lincoln Continental parked by the theater exit to exit quickly, but was soon corner by police and killed himself. The shooting occurred at the Grand 16 Theater on Johnston Street.

Seven victims remained in the hospital Friday, two have been released.
