Avril Lavigne is opening up about her ordeal with Lyme disease. In a new interview with Good Morning America, the Candian pop star. “I believe that I will come out of this healthier and stronger than I was before. I’ve gained a lot of perspective on my life.” Avril believes it was a tick bite that made her ill.
Avril explains she went from doctor to doctor being misdiagnosed. “I was in Los Angeles, literally, like the worst time in my life and I was seeing, like, every specialist and literally, the top doctors, and they were so stupid, and they would pull up their computer and be like, “chronic fatigue syndrome,” or “Why don’t you try to get out of bed Avril, and just play the piano? Are you depressed?'” Avril says in tears. “This is what they do to a lot of people who have Lyme disease. They don’t have an answer for them so they tell them, like, ‘You’re crazy.'”
Avril also said she has progressed well. “I’m about halfway through my treatment. I’m doing a lot better. Seeing a lot of progress. … I’m just really grateful to know that, like, I will make [a] 100 percent recovery.”
Avril also brought along her new video, “Fly”. All proceeds will go to Special Olympics, according to Avril.
