CoverGirl challenged me and I accepted! What’s the challenge you ask…I had to wear the new CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Polish for 7 days and see how long the polish could stay shiny and chip free. The polish does not need a base coat or a top coat since it is built in…let’s see how it went!

Day 1-7 Review:
Day 1-3: I applied three thin coats of the CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Polish in 240, a light-ish coral orange color (no base coat or top coat for the experiment) and it went on smooth and shiny. The polish dried quickly and the color is really vibrant and rich. Between Day 1 and day 3 my nails looked perfect, nice shine and no chips. Lovin’ it!
Day 4-5: By day 4 I has some nail tip rub off but I still had tons of shine and no visible chips. On day 5 the rub off was more noticeable and my shine was starting to dull.
Day 6-7: By my sixth day parts of my nails still had some shine, but it was definitely duller than days 1-3 and I encountered some chips and my tips were rubbing off. On day seven the chips were obviously noticeable and in need of some nail polish remover. Next time I would consider using a top coat for extra protection at the beginning of my mani or maybe around day three to extend the life of my polish and retain the shine. The colors are very beautiful and vibrant and will be my new go to drugstore nail polish brand.
The CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Polishes are in stores now, about 15 colors, but in January more polishes will be introduced. But…I haven’t come across the polishes in my local CVS…I will be waiting!
Update I just saw the new display at CVS!
