Tidal’s not off to the best start and now add a $50 million lawsuit by Cash Money Records after the new streaming service released Lil Wayne Music last week. If you remember Lil Wayne and Cash Money are currently on the outs. According to court, filed in New York Supreme Court, Lil Wayne and Cash Money have an exclusive recording contract signed in 1998…which Tidal may have violated when they released the 2014 song Glory and the album FWA (Free Weezy Album) mixtape.
The lawsuit wants $20 million for monetary damages and $30 million in punitive damages, plus the removal of Lil Wayne’s music.
