Two years after the death of Jenni Rivera, her estate is suing the owners of the plane, Starwood Management Inc. that crashed in northern Mexico on Dec. 9, 2012, killing everyone on board. The lawsuit also names Bombardier Inc. and Learjet Inc., who serviced the airplane.
Rivera’s estate and Starwood have also been sued by the families of the others killed in the crash which included, Rivera’s attorney, hairstylist, publicist and makeup artist and one of the pilots. A settlement is in talks.
Rivera’s company has been sued along with Starwood by relatives of those killed in the crash, including her and one of the plane’s pilots. Attorneys are scheduled to update a judge Wednesday on the progress of settlement talks between Rivera’s company and the relatives.
