When Jennifer Lawrence took the stage to help announce the Academy Awards nominations she surprised us with a new hair color and it was all a happy accident via a stripping shampoo.
The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence is now a redhead! “Her new color is actually a happy accident,†hairstylist Mark Townsend told InStyle.com exclusively. “It’s been colored and re-colored so many times I told her to give it a break and use stripping shampoos.†Lawrence—who went from blond to brunet to, now, red—last had her hair colored by Joico colorist Cherry Petenbrink for her upcoming role as Katniss Everdeen. “Jennifer had such gorgeous natural blond hair when she arrived at my studio, I had to fill it to build color. Our end result was a deep, level five brunet,†Petenbrink told us. “Jennifer was nervous, but she loved it. She told us ‘I can live with this for three movies.’†The colorist also adds that a product like Joico K-Pak Color Therapy Shampoo and Restorative Oil (available at salons) can help preserve rich color the longest.
