Jessica Simpson has made a lucrative career in the fashion business, but even she’s made a few financial mistakes…for example her marriage to Nick Lachey. Jessica stopped by CNBC’s Closing Bell and was asked, “what was your biggest money mistake?” Jessica answered. “The biggest money mistakes? I don’t know. For some reason I thought of my first marriage!” Ouch…Jessica paid him a big divorce settlement.
I’m going to side with Nick Lachey for a sec here…there was no prenup and he was the bigger star at the time of their wedding. Then she blew up during the marriage in part due to their reality TV show, but if the tables were turned it would be him paying up! It is what it is. I’m not sure how much she had to cough up but she’s celebrating the 10th anniversary of her Jessica Simpson Collection and she’ done pretty well for herself…so maybe don’t complain. She’s also got a hot hubby and two beautiful kids. Life is good!
