Katie Couric is ‘flattered’ that she is being considered as a replacement for Savannah Guthrie on the Today Show during her maternity leave even if its just ‘speculation’ right now. Couric was out at the NYC premiere of her new documentary “Fed Up” when she addressed all the rumors.

Couric told ET, “We’ll see. I’m pretty busy right now with this documentary, being the global news anchor at Yahoo, finishing up my day time show …and my daughter is graduating from high school. And I’m getting married! That’s very flattering, and I love my friends at NBC and it’s very flattering, even the speculation.”

Notice she did not say no…that ‘speculation’ is probably right! Katie was a co-host on Today from 1991 to 2006 when took over for Deborah Norville, who never returned from maternity leave. Today did repond to ET saying, “We are blessed with many options to temporarily fill Savannah’s chair …but there’s no plan yet — stay tuned.”
