Usher has been accused of plagiarising a song featured in an episode of The Simpsons.
A YouTube mash-up of lines from the R&B star’s track ‘OMG’ and a novelty Christmas song penned by Homer Simpson in 2003 episode ‘Dude, Where’s My Ranch?’ has been viewed over 230,000 times after DJs on Mississippi radio station Y101 first noticed the similarity.
The offending line from Usher’s former chart topper reads “Honey got a booty like pow, pow, pow. Honey got some boobies like wow, oh wow,” while Simpson’s gag song recorded seven years prior includes the lyrics: “Christmas in December, wow wow wow. Give me tons of presents, now now now.”
