The Porsche that took the life of Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas may have been going at least 90 at the time of the crash officials told People. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s detective Jeff Maag says the driver “was doing well over 45 – [it’s] fair to say at least twice that.” The car struck a light pole, two trees and a street sign. But it will take a few days to a few weeks before any real conclusions are made regarding the speed of the car during the accident or whether the car had any mechanical failures. Maag also added that the coroner’s office was waiting for the dental records to see who was the driver of the car, although witnesses at the scene remember Rodas was driving when the pair departed.

Maag says they will be looking for the cars black box, if it has one. “Porsche seems to think it has one. They put them in all different locations [in the car]. We have to dig for it. We may have to send [it] to Germany to be downloaded, or perhaps we can plug it into another Porsche GT and be able to read it from that.” The black box “will give us the speed, whether they were wearing their seat belts, all kinds of information 25 seconds before the collision and 5 seconds after.”

Antonio Holmes, who who was at the scene of the accident says Walker was still in the passengers seat with his seat belt on when he arrived with two fire extinguishers.  “For that car to disintegrate the way it did, speed, of course [was a factor], but something went wrong and it put them at an angle to the curb,” Holmes tells PEOPLE. “There’s not a shadow of a doubt in my mind, it wasn?t driver error.”

On a side note The Wrap is the reporting that Fast & Furious 7 may scrap the footage they have and start all over again in the wake of Paul’s death. Half of the movie was already filmed but some of Paul’s key scenes had not yet been filmed. No decisions have been made yet!

Paul is The Fast And The Furious franchise…along with Vin Diesel! Should the movie be made or should they scrap the entire thing since the main actor has passed away.
