Wow, can this be real…will Simon Cowell and Paula Adbul be reuniting for X Factor…this looks like a big fat YES!! Paula has been working on her X factor deal for some time now and thee should be an announcement real soon!
Sources tell THR that Abdul’s deal is finally done for her to join Cowell and previously announced judges Cheryl Cole and Antonio “L.A.” Reid on the highly-anticipated singing competition, which begins taping its judges rounds on Sunday in Los Angeles and will debut on Fox in September.
As late as Saturday afternoon, it was unclear whether negotiations between the ex-American Idol judge and X Factor producers would result in a signed contract before Abdul was scheduled to report for duty on Sunday. THR first reported Friday that talks were taking much longer than planned. One issue, according to sources, was an option that CBS had on Abdul based on a deal for her to participate in the short-lived CBS competition show Live to Dance. That deal, according to two sources close to X Factor, contained language that could have prevented Abdul from joining the new show.
What we do know for sure… is that Nicole Scherzinger and British import, Steve Jones will most likely be the hosts of X Factor!
Multi-talented performer and chart-topping artist Nicole Scherzinger and British TV personality Steve Jones will host THE X FACTOR, the highly anticipated singing competition series debuting this fall on FOX. Scherzinger, who recently served as a guest judge on the U.K. version of “The X Factor,” is a singer, songwriter and performer and Jones began his career as a fashion model and has gone on to host some of the U.K.’s biggest TV shows.
“I am thrilled to be asked by Simon Cowell to host THE XFACTOR,” said Scherzinger. “I loved working alongside Simon on the U.K. show, and cannot wait to see what he has in store for the U.S. I’m so excited to work with Steve Jones and help discover astounding talent from across the country!”
