Bill Cosby’s TV wife Claire Huxtable aka Phylicia Rashad has come to his defense after more than 20 woman have accused the famed comedian of sexual assault. Rashad spoke with Roger Friedman’s Showbiz 411 about the new controversy surrounding her longtime friend, “Forget these women. What you’re seeing is the destruction of a legacy. I think it’s orchestrated. I don’t know why or who’s doing it, but it’s the legacy. And it’s a legacy that is so important to the culture.”

Rashad went on to talk about The Cosby Show. “This show represented America to the outside world. This was the American family. And now you’re seeing it being destroyed. Why?” Rashad spent 12 years on TV with Bill on The Cosby Show and then Cosby and believes the recent accusation are a ploy to keep Cosby off TV. “Someone is determined to keep Bill Cosby off TV. And it’s worked. All his contracts have been cancelled.”
