Rihanna sat down with Oprah last night and opened up about her battery incident with Chris Brown that destroyed their relationship. Rihanna has since forgiven Brown she told Oprah but they have remained friends. “I have forgiven him. I was angry for a long time.”
Rihanna admitted that Brown was her first love after Oprah asked if Brown was the love of her life. “I think he was the love of my life. He was my first love.” Rihanna admitted being protective of Brown after he was arrested for beating her up back in 2009.
“It was a weird, confusing space to be in. Because as angry as I was, as angry and hurt and betrayed, I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help and who’s going to help him? Nobody’s going to say he needs help. Everybody’s going to say he’s a monster without looking at the source, and I was more concerned about him.”
“I lost my best friend. Everything I knew switched … switched in a night and I couldn’t control that,” the Barbados native told Winfrey. “So I had to deal with that, and that’s not easy for me to understand or interpret. It’s not easy to interpret on camera. Not with the world watching.”
Where you surprised that Rihanna admitted to seeing Brown in St. Tropez like some media has reported!! “We went to a mutual friend’s party on a yacht. It’s awkward because I still love him.” Rihanna added, “I truly love him,” she continued. “And the main thing for me is that he is at peace. I’m not at peace if he is unhappy or he is still lonely. I care. It actually matters that he finds peace.”
