Sooo, Sofia Vergara is being sued by her fiancé, Nick Loeb over a set of female embryos created by In vitro when they were dating. Loeb filed the lawsuit in California to save the embryos while Sofia does not want to preserve the embryos (you know because they broke up).
According to the document obtained by In Touch Weekly, just a few months before their split in 2013 the couple created a few embryos with her egg and his sperm. Loeb, under the pseudonym John DoeJohn Doe, “seeks to ensure that the Female Embryos are not destroyed, but Jane Doe [Sofía] refuses to agree to their preservation under all circumstances.” The lawsuit was first filed in August 2014 and later after Nick got new representation.
The court documents also alleged abuse from Sofia to Nick says she was “was physically and mentally abusive” several times. “She punched him in the face on two occasions, kicked him, and threw her phone at his head. She also routinely bullied him, calling him a ‘loser,’ ‘worthless’ and other degrading names,” according to the papers.
The couple tried unsuccessfully to have children via surrogate.“Nick has always wanted to be a father and will do whatever it takes to save these two remaining female embryos,” an insider told InTouch. “Nick is very emotionally invested in these female embryos because he’s pro-life and believes life begins at conception.”
So Nick wants to save the embryos.“John seeks to save from destruction two cryopreserved Female Embryos created using John’s sperm and Jane’s ova for the purposes of attempting to have children. However, before the Female Embryos could be implanted in a surrogate, the Parties ended their relationship.” Sofía on the other hand “hoped for the Female Embryos to ultimately be destroyed” but “John does not desire for the Female Embryos to be destroyed.”
Sofia and Nick allegedly got into a huge fight over the embryos if they were to die. The fertility center allegedly provided forms in case of death , but not separation. “Jane insisted that in such a circumstance, the Female Embryos be thawed with no further action. John did not agree with Jane and refused to initial his agreement regarding that term. Jane insisted that John agree to the destruction of the Female Embryos under that circumstance, and began vigorously berating him in the offices. John Doe signed this portion of the Former Directive, even though he did not agree with it, in order to avoid further abuse.”
Why does he want a set of embryos with a woman he is not long with and has moved on. That’s ridiculous. He should find a new relationship, get married and have kids with her. I think Nick wants a payday from Sofia…
