Tiger Woods was a very unhappy man last year in November…a man with many skeletons (aka women) in his closet, fast forward to a year later and Tiger says he is an “infinitely” happy man! Tiger also discusses how he last year was good for him…without the scandal he wouldn’t have realized how blessed he was!
“If that didn’t happen I don’t think I’d be as blessed and as balanced as I am now,” Tiger told hosts Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg. “I take full responsibility for my actions.”
Tiger credited his close friends with helping him get through that difficult time and said that he is an “infinitely” happier man today than he was a year ago.
The morning hosts asked Tiger what he learned about himself during the crisis: “[I learned] who I was and where I needed to go,” Tiger responded. “I wasn’t the person that my mom and dad raised me to be and I knew that.”
The private golf star also dished about the uncharacteristic number of tweets that he has sent out recently, saying that he wishes to connect with the fans who have stayed positive and supported him over the past year.
Tiger made his comeback to golf at the 2010 Master’s tournament in Augusta, Georgia and he said that it didn’t take long for him to get comfortable again on the course, but perhaps the most intimidating part of Tiger’s predicament has yet to come.
Tiger’s two children, Sam Alexis, 3, and Charlie Axel, 1, are too young to understand the plight that surrounded their father, but Tiger says that when they are old enough he will talk to his children “face-to-face” and tell them the truth.
With Thanksgiving approaching, Tiger revealed what he appreciates the most this year, saying, “I’m thankful to have my kids.”
