Tracy Morgan is in critical condition in a New Jersey hospital after the limo he was riding in was involved in a 6-car accident that left one victim dead and closed the New Jersey Turnpike for hours early Saturday morning.
Morgan and six others were returning from a stand-up comedy show in Delaware after 1 a.m. when the limo bus was overturned during the accident, killing one person. Morgan’s rep, Lewis Kay confirmed released a statement to People, “Tracy remains in critical condition at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. He sustained these injuries in an accident that occurred early this morning as one of several passengers in a chauffeured SUV returning from a tour date in Delaware. His family is now with him and he is receiving excellent care. We don’t anticipate much of a change in his condition today but will provide a further update once more information becomes available.”
Sgt. First Class Greg Williams told The Associated Press that along with Morgan’s limo, two tractor-trailers, a sports utility vehicle and two cars were involved in the accident. Its still unclear what happened in the accident.
Update: Comic James McNair named as killed passenger. He was a close friend and comedy writing partner of Morgan.
