"Righteous Kill" New York City Premiere - Arrivals

It’s been almost a year since Tracy Morgan was involved in a car accident that claimed the life of his friend, James McNair and now he ready to talk about the tragic incident. During this morning’s The Today Show, Tracy sat down with Matt Lauer and emotionally recalled the accident, which was amicably settled with Wal-Mart last week and become emotional talking about McNair, “The case is settled, but the pain is always going to be there for Jimmy Mac. Bones heal, but the loss of my friend will never heal.”

The usually upbeat comedian, somberly talked about waking up after the accident in a hospital bed (he doesn’t remember the collision), “There are times where I have my good day and my bad days, where I forget things. There are times where I get the headaches, and the nose bleeds. I won’t even let my lady know because I don’t want her to be worried about it.”

Tracy also talked about his good friend, James, which he didn’t know died until two weeks after the accident when he came out of his coma. “I had to know what happened to my friend. I had to know. I had to pay my respects, and that was my way. He was a close friend of mine, a comrade in comedy. He was a loving man, and he was a warm man. He was a good man. It’s just hard for me to see that he’s gone.” He searched Youtube for video of his friend and the funeral after he returned home from the hospital. So sad!
