Zooey Deschanel filed for divorce from her husband of 2 years, Ben Gibbard, Death Cab for Cutie front man.
The New Girl actress, 31, filed for divorce on Dec. 27 from Death Cab for Cutie front man Ben Gibbard, 35, according to court documents.
The papers list their date of separation as Oct. 31 – Halloween – and cite irreconcilable differences.
In November, a rep for Deschanel confirmed that the couple – married since 2009 – had separated.
In a later interview with PEOPLE, Deschanel declined to discuss the cause of the split, but said, “We’re friendly. It’s all fine.”
Even though Zooey is getting divorced all her finances are in order! She has no debt on her credit cards and lives a pretty modest lifestyle according to TMZ,
