41st Annual American Music Awards - Press Room

Yes, Rihanna wore a ‘dobbie’ hair style to the 2013 American Music Awards…the hair style worn by women, usually Hispanic and African American, to bed after they have straightened their hair blow dried. It makes the straight style last longer! The style caused quite a stir on Twitter. RiRi also won the  AMA icon award given to her by her mother…how sweet! Jennifer Lopez paid tribute to Celia Cruz in an awesome performance with hip thrusts galore to Cruz’s hit songs,“Quimbara,” “La vida es un carnaval” and “Bemba Colorá.”  And Ariana Grande shut it down with her vocals…during her Motown inspired acoustic version of her her song, “Tattooed Heart.” Even Gaga gave her a standing ovations! She also won Best New Artist.

Other highlights…Miley’s cat and Gaga rides in on a horse.
