Arianna Huffington is leaving the Huffington Post—how can that be her name is right there in the title of her digital media giant’s header…but she is leaving for a new project…a new startup venture called Thrive Global which will focused on health and wellness.
Arianna had planned to stay with HuffPo (through at least 2019 per her contract) and begin her new startup but then decided against it. “I really thought I could do both, but as we started building it up, I realized that it really needed my full attention,”she told WSJ on Thursday. She started the HuUffington Post 11 years ago and turned it into a media giant!
The Huffington Post was acquired by AOL in 2011 (or $315 Million), which was bought by Verizon last year for $4.4 billion.
