Ashley Graham ‘Thankful’ Her Cellulite Wasn’t Airbrushed In V Magazine

Ashley Graham "A New Model: What Confidence, Beauty, and Power Really Look Like" Book Signing at Barnes & Noble in New York City on May 9, 2017

Ashley Graham stripped down for V Magazine and by stripped we mean all of her clothes. But a nude and vulnerable Ashley was grateful that the mag didn’t airbrush her imperfections in an ode to body positivity. “I felt like I was making art that day,” she told Extra, “I’m so thankful they didn’t airbrush my cellulite or my stretch marks out because that made it even more impactful to have that story out.”

Ashley was just looking to encourage more people to be comfortable with themselves.  “I hope I just continue the message of be comfortable with who you are.” In the interview with V Mag Ashley recalls her early years in the modeling biz on the cusp of quitting, “I think I hit bottom around 18. I was disgusted with myself and told my mom I was coming home. And she told me, ‘No, you’re not, because you told me that this was what you wanted and I know you’re supposed to do this. It doesn’t matter what you think about your body, because your body is supposed to change somebody’s life.'”

There is no such thing as perfection, so stop striving for it.
