Beyonce & Jay-Z have lost their battle to trademark their daughters name, Blue Ivy. There was already a party planning company with the name, Blue Ivy Events and have been in business since 2009. Allegedly the couple wanted to trademark the name so Beyonce could start a clothing line with the name. Blue Ivy Events founder,Veronica Alexandra said she needed to protect her investment. “I definitely needed to protect what it is I’ve been living on,” Alexandra told the Herald. “Now it’s time to create the partnerships and business avenues I’m planning on doing, period.”
“I can’t be frustrated with something I think is going to bring me to produce and define my brand even more, which is financially exciting in itself and intellectually exciting as well,” she said. “It’s like they caused me to create more opportunity for myself.”
