Brooke Burke is not letting cancer hold her back and she eve showed off the scar on Good Morning America. Burke underwent thyroid surgery to remove a cancerous tumor.”I never thought I’d hear the word ‘cancer’ in relation to myself. The thought in my mind when I [heard the news] is that I’m a mother, I’ve got four children, I’ve got a family counting on me.” Burke decided not to cover her scar with makeup.”There’s no makeup [on my scar]. This is a first for me. I’ve been scarfing it up.” And the scar doesn’t bother her.”It’s fresh, it’s a month old and I think scars tell a story,” she said. “And I think I’m so fortunate.”
