The reports are true, Charlie Sheen is HIV positive and he’s known for the past four years. “I’m here to admit that I am in fact HIV-positive,” Sheen told Matt Lauer on The Today Show this morning. “I have to put a stop to this onslaught, this barrage of attacks and of sub-truths and very harmful and mercurial stories that are about me, threatening the health of so many others, which couldn’t be further from the truth.”

The actor says told people he trusted. “I trusted them and they were deep in my inner circle, and I thought they could be helpful, but my trust turned to their treason.” Charlie admitted paying out upwards of $10 millions. “What people forget is that its money taken from my children.”

Charlie adds he has had unprotected sex with two people since he was diagnosis and they were aware of his condition. He does not fully know how he got the disease. Charlie was tired of hiding his HIV status.”I have a responsibility now to better myself and to help a lot of other people and hopefully with what we’re doing today others will come forward and say, thanks Charlie.” Charlie’s HIV status is currently undetectable.
