Chelsea Handler may be the only woman holding down late night right now, but that the funny lady has decided to leave her E! talk show, Chelsea Lately at the end of the year her manager Irving Azoff told THR. “Chelsea intends to leave when her contract expires. She hired me to figure out her life after E! We have at least seven suitors and many ideas.” Azoff added that he may bring Handler to another network and radio, plus she has to promote her book, Uganda be Kidding Me, her first No. 1 on the New York Times best-seller and will be filming a comedy special.
An E! spokesperson released a statement to THR: “Chelsea has nine months left on her contract and E! will not comment on the future of Chelsea Lately at this time.” Chelsea hasn’t been too kind to her network, but she is a sarcastic comedian…I thought she would stay at E! a little longer. It’s unclear what will happen to her show since she is leaving!
