Iconic child star Shirley Temple Black died at the age of 85. Temple known for her curly hair who sang and danced in movie during the Depression-era passed away surrounded by family members and caregivers on Monday night at about 11 p.m. at her home near San Francisco according to her publicist, Cheryl Kagan.
Temple’s family released a statement, “We salute her for a life of remarkable achievements as an actor, as a diplomat, and most importantly as our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and adored wife for fifty-five years of the late and much missed Charles Alden Black.”
In the 70’s temple returned to the public eye in a political career that eventually led to philanthropy for human rights.
