The rumors are true…Chris Rock will host the 2016 Oscars! “I’m so glad to be hosting the Oscars,” Rock said in a statement. “It’s great to be back.” This isn’t Rocks first time on the stage either, he hosted the 77th Oscar awards in 2005, where he kept his standup style jokes for the show (rumor has it some didn’t like being made fun of).
“Chris Rock is truly the MVP of the entertainment industry,” Academy Awards producers David Hill and Reginald Hudlin said in a statement. “Comedian, actor, writer, producer, director, documentarian — he’s done it all. He’s going to be a phenomenal Oscar host!”
