Conrad Murray was released today after serving two years of a four year sentence for manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson. Murray exited a downtown Los Angeles jail at 12:01 a.m. His jail sentence was cut down after a change in California law. In 2011 Murray was convicted of killing Jackson in 2009 after proving him with the powerful drug, anesthetic propofol as a sleep aid. Jackson would later die of an overdose.
Murray’s license to practice medicine has been suspended in three states, but he is appealing his conviction.
