Tori Spelling is spilling all her beans in her new book, Telling It Like It Is. Tori recants a story about uncomfortable run-in into Katie Holmes just before her divorce to Tom Cruise in July 2012. Tori says she met Katie when she was on Dawson’s Creek and she was a sweet girl, but would later encounter a frosty Katie, on the brink of a divorce, at the office of vocal coach Eric Vetro. “I didn’t know whether we should hug or shake hands. But the signal from her was immediately clear: Don’t even come close. I instantly got nervous. We clearly weren’t going to catch up on the last ten years. And we certainly weren’t going to talk about her husband, Tom Cruise.”
Tori then complimented her daughter Suri and she says Katie acted as though she did not know she had two kids of her own. “Then I was annoyed. Come on. Okay, I know you’re busy. But you’re in the public eye. Don’t tell me you don’t follow the tabloids. Don’t tell me you don’t know anything about other celebrities and their kids . . .Then we stood there. She was just plastic. In a perfectly polite way . . . my pits were drenched. I never sweat. It was that awkward. I thought, I know you’re not a robot because you can’t sing for s**t . As my anxiety faded, I just felt sorry for her. I felt sad for her. Those paparazzi photos, the ones where she looks like she’s miserable but putting on a happy face? That’s what she looked like in person.”
Hey you never know what’s going on behind closed door, right? But if Tori ever runs into Katie again it will be even more awkward than the last time after she hears this story!!!
