Criminal Minds star Thomas Gibson has been suspended from the CBS crime drama after having an altercation with one of the shows writers. Gibson will probably miss 1-2 episodes over the incident—which may have involved Gibson kicking co-executive producer Virgil Williams according to Deadline. Sources says Gibson will be written out of the episodes and he may not be able to direct any more episodes on the show (he has directed about 6 episodes of the show so far).
Sources also tell Deadline that this may not have been Gibson’s first altercation with another crew member…he may have pushed another producer and had to attend anger management classes, but stayed on the show.
According to TMZ, Gibson says the altercation was in ‘retaliation’ after an argument over creative differences with the writer. Gibson tells TMZ, “There were creative differences on the set and a disagreement. I regret that it occurred. We all want to work together as a team to make the best show possible. We always have and always will.”
