People woke up today shaking their heads at Kanye West after he seemingly dissed the pop star again. In one of his songs for The Life of Pablo, Kanye raps, “For all my Southside n—-s who will know me best / I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why, I made that b*tch famous / God damn / I made that b*tch famous.” Isn’t Kanye married to (and obsessed with) Kim…she probably doesn’t even care what Kanye says anymore.
Taylor’s family and friends have come to her defense like brother Austin who threw away his Yeezy’s during Spring cleaning and Gigi Hadid who supported Taylor while at the Yeezy show tweeting, “My attendance somewhere does not mean I agree with everything being said in the music playing there. My friends know of my loyalty.”
Jaime King tweeted, “I’m so sad right now & disappointed right now. I stand by my sister. Always.”
Taylor’s Rep denies she knew about the lyrics in advance. “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous.'”
So Kanye know thinks he made Taylor Swift famous for that 2009 VMA incident, but we beg to differ. But I will say that this seems weird to me, why bring up Taylor again…why not devote your lyrics to something better, that doesn’t put Taylor in the headlines on the day after YOUR Yeezy 3 presentation. We cared more about Kim’s hair and that Taylor Swift lyric than the clothes in the fashion show. Why even give Taylor a headline, I thought Kanye would want them all to himself. Right?
Update Kanye rants again! He even says Taylor thought it was funny and it might have been her idea!
“I did not diss Taylor Swift and I’ve never dissed her…” he wrote. “First thing is I’m an artist and as an artist I will express how I feel with no censorship. 2nd thing I asked my wife for her blessings and she was cool with it. 3rd thing I called Taylor and had a hour long convo with her about the line and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings. 4th Bitch is an endearing term in hip hop like the word N–a. 5th thing I’m not even gone take credit for the idea… it’s actually something Taylor came up with … She was having dinner with one of our friends who’s name I will keep out of this and she told him. I can’t be mad at Kanye because he made me famous! #FACTS.”
Annnnd…..”6th Stop trying to demonize real artist Stop trying to compromise art. That’s why music is so f–king watered down right now I miss that DMX feeling. 7th I miss that feeling so that’s what I want to help restore. 8th They want to control us with money and perception and mute the culture but you can see at Madison Square Garden that you can stop us. 9th It felt like a seen from The Warriors ALL GODS ALL GODS ALL GODS in the buildin.
