Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are worth a ton of money, especially Jennifer who is worth around $150M with her movies, music, clothing, productions and endorsements. So how will the money get split?
They’re worth $200 million combined, but did Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have a prenuptial agreement when they married in 2004?
Us Weekly’s Senior Editor Bradley Jacobs gives “Extra” the inside scoop regarding the future of J.Lo and Marc’s finances, saying, “You should never assume a prenup. Human emotions surprise you. People don’t always end up having a prenup, so it’ll be interesting to see how they divide the goods.”
Jennifer, the face of Gucci, Gillette and L’Oreal, is worth a reported $150 million, and is considered a one-woman empire with her clothing, perfume, and production companies. Marc is worth $40 million, earning upwards of 10 million a year and selling 11 million records.
If no agreement exists, Anthony stands to receive half of Jennifer’s fortune if they claim legal residency in Los Angeles, since California’s marital assets are split 50/50. If they are residents elsewhere, a judge could decide who contributed more and make a division based on how much each partner earned.
Lopez, ranking 50th on Forbes’ “New Celebrity 100” list, earned $25 million last year — nearly half of it coming from her “American Idol” TV gig. “‘American Idol’ really revitalized her in a way I think people weren’t expecting,” Jacobs said. “As part of the ‘American Idol’ deal, she’s got a movie deal at FOX [and] they have another TV show they’re [Lopez and Anthony] gonna do — a Latin American version of ‘American Idol,’ but Jennifer is clearly the bigger star here.”
The couple share a number of multi-million dollar properties, including an $8.5-million Hollywood Hills estate, $1-million Miami penthouse, two Long Island homes worth a total of $6 million, and will soon launch their lifestyle fashion venture with Kohl’s, expected to generate up to $3-billion.
On a a side note Us Magazine is reporting that Jennifer’s mother Guadalupe emailed Ben Affleck to ask him legal advice (she always liked Ben).
Guadalupe Lopez, the singer-actress’s mother (and plus-one at the July 9 BAFTA bash with the royals in Hollywood), sought Affleck’s advice on July 12, multiple sources confirm in the new Us Weekly. “Guadalupe reached out to Ben over email. She wanted advice for Jennifer,” reveals a source.
“She always liked and trusted him. [Ben] replied back on email, wished her well and offered what he could,” the source says of Affleck, 38, now happily married with two daughters to Jennifer Garner. (Lopez, now 41, wed Latin crooner Anthony, 42, just months after she and Affleck split.
Plus…now there are rumors of infidelity on Marc’s part…this is just the beginning of their story!!!
