Jennifer Lopez did her best dance moves for the Turkmenistan leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow’s birthday Saturday night, but her rep says she would not have performed at the show had she known the country has human rights issues. “Had there been knowledge of human rights issues any kind, Jennifer would not have attended.” Her publicist also added that the event was hosted by the China National Petroleum Corp. and wasn’t a political event.Turkmenistan is described by Human Rights Watch as “among the most repressive in the world.”
