Jennifer Lopez is digging deep for her next role—she will play drug lord Griselda Blanco for an HBO TV movie she is developing. The film is still in development, but JLo would take on one of the biggest drug lords to take over Miami in the 70’s and 80’s. But not only did Blanco sell drugs she is also accused of killing a few of her husbands. Blanco was dubbed La Madrina, the Cocaine Godmother, “the Black Widow” all for her ruthless demeanor. “I’ve been fascinated by the life of this corrupt and complicated woman for many years,” Lopez said. “The idea of teaming with HBO felt like the perfect fit for finally bringing Griselda’s story to life.“
Blanco served about 20 years in prison before she was deported to Colombia, were she was killed in the city of Medellin, at 69 years old in 2012 in a drive-by shooting.
