Jennifer Lopez’s Oscar Ponytail Explained Step By Step!

A simple ponytail seems pretty easy to do, but when Jennifer Lopez does it for the 2015 Oscar red carpet it become quite grande. CHI, the hair styling tools giant, explained Jennifer’s look step-by-step suing the CHI G2 1 ¼” Hairstyling Iron, CHI 44 Iron Guard Thermal Protection Spray, CHI Pliable Polish and CHI Shine Infusion. This is their inspired ponytail look!

1 Begin by misting the hair with CHI 44 Iron Guard Thermal Protection Spray prior to heat styling.

2 Create loose waves using the CHI G2 1 ¼” Hairstyling Iron by curling the hair in 2” sections. Wrap hair around the iron once and glide the plates through the hair until a curl is created.

3 Repeat Steps 1 and 2 until entire head is loosely curled.

4 Smooth hair back with a CHI Turbo Backcomb Brush, creating a ponytail at the crown area.

5 Dispense CHI Pliable Polish onto fingertips and rub hands together to emulsify the product.

6 Apply around the perimeter of edges to smooth flyways.

7 Wrap a small piece of hair around the ponytail and pin to camouflage the elastic band.

8 Finish the fresh and sexy style with CHI Shine Infusion for added polish.

Now this is CHI’s interpretation on Jennifer’s look, which was actually created by Lorenzo Martin for L’Oreal Paris. They used big hot rollers instead of the riron to create the look.
